This is a promo for the year long feud between Kevin Steen and El Generico. The music and video are just fantastic, and even if you didn't follow the feud it can get you hyped up for the match. I miss when WWE had promos like this, I find they barely get you excited for the match since they just show clips from RAW leading up to the match.
Anyways, just thought it was pretty cool.

Love that hype video, was a great feud that actually lasted a whole fucking year, Final Battle 2009 Steen turned by hitting Generico with a chair then they went on a year long feud was epic stuff and that Final Battle 2010 match was brutal. Totally agree with you Jimi that hype package was awesome

It's not the hype packages that are bad nowadays they are equal if not better then they were in the past, WWE's Hype Package Team as I call them have made every feud watchable at least and some are epic, the problem is the feuds. If they booked actual feuds that intertwined good character development, history and reasons for feuding we would have way more memories in the present then we do in the past.

WWE has feuds that last for like 2 pay per views tops, I like it better when a rivalry builds for months before they even have a 1 on 1 match. In this one, Generico refused to even hit Steen until months in, just taking beatings from Steen, until he finally got pissed off enough to challenge him. And I still stand by that WWE hype packages are pretty lame now a days, simply for the fact that they use awful, generic music that doesn't get me excited for a brawl. Plus here they used audio from one of Steens best promos, really pushing how dramatic the feud is. WWE Superstars barely get serious for a feud anymore, it's usually just funny babyface makes fun of stupid heel. Jericho and CM Punk was getting really intense, but they only had two big matches, when they probably could have gone for months after that.

Jericho and CM Punk was getting really intense, but they only had two big matches, when they probably could have gone for months after that. What you said about the music in the hype packages nowadays is true however what made hype packages big back in the Ruthless Agression Era (2002-2005 my favorite era in wrestling history) was they used mainstream awesome rock that got your adrenaline so high you wanted to kick someone in the face. Since rock has gotten completely stale nowadays WWE can't use any songs and they can't use an epic hype song from 10 years because well it was from a long time ago lol. Feud length doesn't matter in my opinion if it's a good feud it needs to be long but look at Del Rio/Sheamus they've had the longest feud in awhile and it's freaking bad. I was actually thinking about this in school and I realized that the only way feuds will get better is because of character development and long story arcs. Take Kane for example, he is imo the best DEVELOPED character in wrestling history. The 2 biggest pieces of evidence were in 1997 and 2005. In 1997 Paul Bearer told Taker that Kane was coming to wreak havoc. Taker was feuding with DX at the time and we all know about Badd Blood 97 and how it's probably the best beginning of a story arc ever. Not only do you have a good feud between Taker and DX but you have the 1st HIAC and have Kane come in with huge build-up and shock everyone. THAT'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Another case with Kane was when Edge beat Kane and stole Lita from him. Not only did it get Edge some major heat it gave him a chance to do a breaking the 4th wall feud with Matt Hardy and get himself over enough to become a big star. How was this all possible? Kane and Matt Hardy's feud over Lita in 2004 which spawned a huge story arc that ended up with Edge becoming WWE Champion although most of it was indirected towards Edge until 2005 but still you get my point. WWE needs better feuds.

Well a long feud doesn't mean a good feud that's for sure, I just wish when WWE get's something great like Punk vs. Jericho, or even back to Punk vs. Cena (Yes, I really like CM Punk), they give them like two matches and then try something different. Punk and Cena had back to back 5 star matches, and then they just throw Punk into a feud with Triple H. You can't develop a character if you don't have enough time, but look how Bryan has developed since his feud with CM Punk. (Sorry for always going back to Punk, but he's one of the only people I still like in WWE) And there's tons of great music WWE could use for hype videos, they just need to find it. Plus if they used lesser known songs it benefits the artist too

WWE using music that isn't Flo Rida or Kevin Rudolf?
