ECW opens to the familiar face of Mr. McMahon who had opened RAW in the same fashion just under 24 hours ago.
Mr. McMahon - Ladies & Gentlemen, I stand before you here tonight with some news you may not be ready to hear. It has come to my attention more recently that many superstars on the roster have proven to be what we in the business like to call a no-show. Well, tonight's case is no different. The previously scheduled tag team match between Jeff Hardy & John Morrison vs. Batista & Mike Knox has now been changed to singles competition where you'll see the ripped John Morrison take on the rugged Mike Knox. I have received doctors notes for both Batista & Jeff Hardy and the apparent cause for them no-showing tonight is, explosive diarrhea. That seems to be going around a lot lately. As a matter of fact, I heard The Brian Kendrick has it as well. Hell, every damn one of you no shows has it because to me you are all nothing more than steaming piles of vile, putrid, nauseating pieces of CRAP! That's all you are to me. You want to make names for yourselves & you decide to do this instead? What a bunch of bullshit. Why don't you no-show's do what you were really destined for...'flipping burgers at McDonald's' or better yet...something you've grown attached to more recently 'cleaning TOILETS'. Mark my words, this is your last chance, Don't...cross...the...boss. And for those of you who showed up tonight...make the best of tonight because tonight mark's the final night for ECW. I thank you very much.
Singles Match
Mike Knox def. John Morrison
The match started off with some back & forth action. A few reversals by both men eventually turned into Mike Knox gaining the upperhand. Following some stomps by Knox, Morrison was mounted by Knox on three seperate occassions. The first two times Morrison was given a complete beat down and the final time Knox rolled off of him exhausted. Morrison temporarly regained control until Knox reversed Morrison's momentum sending him flying into the corner with an irish whip. Knox was able to drag Morrison to the center of the ring where he performed his finishing move, The Knox Out, to pick up the victory.
After the match, Mike Knox had the following to say about John Morrison, "Morrison put up a good fight and I respect his technical abilities."
Singles Match
Edge def. Dolph Ziggler
What was anticipated by many to be a match canidate of the month had fans shocked after the match ended after only 2 minutes. The match itself started off quickly with Edge & Ziggler pulling off a number of different reversals. However, it would be from that point on that Edge would take full control of the match. The finish came just after the 2 minute mark when Edge gave Ziggler a suplex which was then followed up with a spear & the Edge-o-Matic. Edge got the cover & the victory in a lightning paced win.
After the match, Edge had a look of shock on his face on how fast the match ended. Ziggler held his head while kneeling on the ring mat clearly in both pain & shock.
Edge had this to say after it was all said & done. "I'm not sure if it was just a bad day for Ziggler judging from his past performances but that win for me came thick and fast. I look forward to meeting him and my pal Ted at the Survivor Series for the Intercontinental Title".
"Leaves the Memories Alone" begins to play as clips of ECW's History is played on the Titantron
Chris Jericho wins the very first match on ECW by defeating HBK in an Iron Man Match, 2 falls to none.
Edge lays out both Christian & R-Truth with a steel chair before taking out Christian with a one man con-chair-to which he still feels to this day.
Evan Bourne & CM Punk dazzle the crowd with their high flying abilities in the first & last ever steel cage match on ECW.
The video ends with the letters ECW appearing the screen. The letters then begin to fade into words which reveal, 'Extremely Crappy Wrestling'.
Mr. McMahon - Well, I'm glad that is over with. ECW is no more. Out with the old and in with the new. The recent draft has definitely shaken this league from it's foundation up. RAW & Smackdown are the two main brand shows from this point forward. With that being said, this Friday Night on Smackdown, I'm officially making this the Main Event. In a anything goes tornado tag team match, you will see 2 of the 3 Challengers for the Intercontinental Championship, Edge & Ted Dibiase go face to face with the two men who will fight for the ultimate gold, The World Heavyweight Championship Belt at the Survivor Series, Shawn Michaels & Chris Jericho.
